Polymer-based media such as Polystyrene DVB or Methacrylate offer higher pH stability (pH 1-14) than
Silica-based material, so columns packed with these packings can be thoroughly cleaned with strong
acids or bases.
However these packings are compressible and may shrink or swell with certain solvents, and they do not
offer the same resolution when compared to Silica-based packings.
